Remembrance 2012

It has been a kind Remembrance Sunday; dry, bright and cool.
The cathedral was full to the doors.

The falling of petals during the silence is appreciated by mourners;
they file quietly to the altar afterwards to take photos.
Some take a petal as a relic.

For those who prefer a secular Act of Remembrance, the town centre was also full.

People choose to remember; they do not forget.

Dear WoaR

Happy Chrimbo and a great new year to you. It's been a long year buddy. Bloody Christmas - it's a con to realise yer family's all mental - and if you join the dots - arrrggghhh! If only there was someone to call? I check him every day. He has taught us so much.

Cheers

DtP

Ps; I got the thunderbolt about 3 weeks ago, a girl I am losing irretrievable hours of sleep over. 5 quite quick years on my own and happy as a pig in shit but.....

Hello E-K & DtP

Season's greetings and a Happy New Year to you. I'm coming in via an ancient machine which Mr Raft has just reconfigured for me so it's like time travel back to the steam era. Any clunkier and it would have a ribbon and a raked keyboard. I wouldn't mind as I learned in the days of hammering along through carbon paper.

I hope the boys had a good time and DtP, you be careful. I trust the golf course has not had too many new water features but given how the fields are soaked and there are meres forming all over the place round here, you'd be better off with a beach ball than a golf ball.

I was at a memorial, with wife and son (his first time). Never seen so many people gather for a service before... Pretty moving, given we live in the Fens. Wouldn't have seen this in a UK city though.
