Epping and Ongar - All Aboard!

It is with great pleasure the volunteers of the Epping Ongar Railway announce that they are rolling them waggons and are hoping for a summer of steamy fun.

They have a timetable running right through to the Santa Specials and they are within easy reach of East London so grab the bookings (tickets available on line) now if you want to take the tots on a day out without having to travel too far.

Oooh! I saw that on telly, they had a special one-day opening a couple of years ago, where the family afternoon outing consisted of taking the Tube to Epping and then chugging back and forth to Ongar a couple of times (in a little diesel train), stopping off to look atthe steam engines, a stroll round the village, pint of shandy and then off back home again.

If we can have the same fun again but with steam and whistles, then count us in!

What a pity it's not part of the proper Underground any more.

Why do we do so many stupid things in this country?

A very good idea. We should have a bloggers day on the trains. Not this weekend though; there is a weather warning in place.
